Blast Doors

These blast door are useful for building hangers or bases or you could just build them for no reason whatsoever. The doors slide open and shut.  Instructions after the jump!

You can add your own extras, like the back pack holder pictured.

You need 4 of the tall pieces - the like the black on in the picture (my model pictured uses tan ones of these).

Take 2 8x2 pieces and one 2x2 flat top, hook the long pieces together with the flat one to make a roof. 

Then take 2 4x1s and a base plate and put four tall pieces on it 6 studs apart also leave 2 studs spare at the sides (this is for the doors later).

Take the roof you built earlier and put it on. Now theres 2 gaps at the side of the roof. Put the 2 4x2s on the gaps.

Take one 8x2 and one 6x2 and place the 6x2 under the base plate leaving 3 studs showing and the 8x2 with 5 studs showing. You can see on the picture above where this 6x2 and 8x2 go out the sides.


Now take one smooth bit and 2 2x2s with handles and place it one stud away from the main structure on the 8x2.

Now take 2 flat 2x1's with studs and 2 flat 2x2's and fit them right next to the main structure and 1 stud away from it.

Now build the wall doors as seen. Notice the yellow handles stuck on the top. These are built the same width at the holes at the side.

Slip them in place, put 2 2x1's on end of 8x2 and 6x2 you previously put on bottom.

You can adjust these plans to suit the bricks you have. Have fun!

UPDATE: These blast doors appear in the Jabba's Palace model with a gate keeping droid on top.
